A new article, Transported from Tatham, written by New Zealander Ross Miller, describes how one of his ancestors was transported in 1801 from Tatham to a penal colony in Australia, after having been convicted at Lancaster quarter sessions of stealing milk.

A transcript is now available on the website. The Register listed the personal details and occupation of every civilian in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to allow the issue of identity cards, and organisation of rationing, as World War Two approached. Click here to view the register.
