Founder member Mike Kelly, despite now living in the Western Highlands of Scotland, has been making the most of his Covid lockdowns by contributing a third website article on the long history of our local collieries. Some other longstanding members will remember the 2011 field trip led by Mike which explored the mining remains on and near Wray Wood Moor – part of the Smeer Hall and Stauvin coalfield.
